Usaramine (Mucronatine) is a phytotoxic alkaloid that inhibits seed germination in Lactuca sativa (lettuce) . It is used in plant physiology and allelopathy research to study natural herbicide mechanisms and plant-plant interactions in controlled in vitro bioassays.
