Hemin
Hemin chloride is a chlorinated iron porphyrin and a potent inducer of heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) . It is used therapeutically in acute porphyrias to alleviate heme deficiency and suppress δ-aminolevulinic acid synthetase activity. This compound is widely applied in research models studying oxidative stress, inflammation, and cytoprotection in both cellular and animal studies.
