Ailanthone is a natural compound from Ailanthus altissima with potent anti-hepatocellular carcinoma activity. It induces G0/G1 cell cycle arrest via cyclin/CDK downregulation and p21/p27 upregulation and acts as a potent androgen receptor inhibitor. Research applications include in vitro and in vivo studies in oncology, particularly for prostate and liver cancers.
