Hydroxyamphetamine is an indirect-acting sympathomimetic amine with adrenergic property. Hydroxyamphetamine, when applied topically to the eye, stimulates the release of norepinephrine from postganglionic adrenergic nerves resulting in the stimulation of both alpha and beta adrenergic receptors.
