La peptide
La peptide (LAP) acts as an internal ribosome entry site (IRES) inhibitor. It efficiently penetrates cells and obstructs the binding of cellular transcription factors to viral IRES, thereby inhibiting IRES-mediated translation. La peptide is applicable in RNA virus research, such as studies involving hepatitis C virus (HCV) and poliovirus (PV) .
