AcrAP2
AcrAP2 is an antimicrobial peptide found in the venom of the Arabian scorpion (Androctonus crassicauda) . It exhibits inhibitory effects on Gram-positive bacteria and yeast while generally showing no activity against Gram-negative bacteria. The cationic-enhanced analogue of AcrAP2 (AcrAP2a) has demonstrated significant antiproliferative effects on certain human cancer cell lines at low concentrations. AcrAP2 holds potential for research in antibacterial and antitumor applications.
