Chickens were immunized with a synthetic peptide containing the influenza hemagglutinin (HA) epitope (i.e., YPYDVPDYA) conjugated to keyhole limpet hemocyanin (KLH) . After repeated injections, immune eggs were collected, the IgY fractions were purified from the yolks, and then affinity purified using a peptide column. The concentration of the eluate was then adjusted to 100 µg/mL, and the preparation was filter-sterilized.
