Pre Treatment

Chickens were immunized with a keyhole limpet hemocyanin (KLH) conjugate of a synthetic peptide in the C-terminus of the human gene product (P35222). This sequence is 100% conserved in the mouse and rat Beta catenin gene products. After repeated injections, immune eggs were collected from the hens, and the IgY fractions were purified from the yolks. These IgY fractions were then affinity-purified against the cognate peptide using an agarose column, the concentration of the eluates adjusted to 200 µg/mL, and the preparation was filter-sterilized.

Beta-catenin (CTNNB1) is an adherens junction protein critical for the establishment and maintenance of epithelial layers while at the same time is also a transcription factor and key downstream component of the canonical Wnt signaling pathway which regulates cell fate during development and also contributes to malignant transformation in various cancers

Each new lot of antibody is quality control tested by western blot on HEK293 cells and confirmed to stain the expected molecular weight band representing endogneous beta-catenin.
