RIZ1 Protein, an S-adenosyl-L-methionine-dependent histone methyltransferase, specifically methylates 'Lys-9' of histone H3. Additionally, it acts as a DNA-binding transcription factor, showing affinity for the MTE within the HMOX1 gene.
