Pre-S2 (1-26)

This synthetic peptide contains the N-terminal portion of a 55-residue sequence encoded by the first S2 region of hepatitis B virus (HBV) DNA. It represents an immunodominant epitope that can enhance immunogenicity by covalently linking peptides to liposomes. Antibodies primed against this determinoscope recognize envelope epitopes common to several isoforms of HBV and HBsAg particles.
