Histatin-3

Histatin-3 is a 32-amino acid antimicrobial peptide and a substrate for proprotein convertase 1 (PC1), cleaved after Arg25. It also acts as a competitive furin inhibitor (Ki ~1.98 μM) . This peptide is utilized in research on innate immunity, protease mechanisms, and antimicrobial agent development in both in vitro and cellular studies.
