Hepcidin-1 (mouse) is a key regulator of iron metabolism that promotes osteoclast differentiation. It functions by downregulating ferroportin (FPN1), increasing intracellular iron, and upregulating osteoclastogenic markers like TRAP, cathepsin K, and MMP-9. This peptide is widely used in vitro and in vivo to study bone resorption and iron-related disorders.
