Product Specifications

Background

Hyaluronan-mediated motility receptor (HMMR), also known as RHAMM (Receptor for Hyaluronan Mediated Motility) is a protein which in humans is encoded by the HMMR gene. It is mapped to 5q34. The protein encoded by this gene is involved in cell motility. It is expressed in breast tissue and together with other proteins, it forms a complex with BRCA1 and BRCA2, thus is potentially associated with higher risk of breast cancer. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been noted for this gene.

Synonyms

Hyaluronan mediated motility receptor; Intracellular hyaluronic acid-binding protein; Receptor for hyaluronan-mediated motility; CD168; HMMR; IHABP; RHAMM

Gene Name

hyaluronan mediated motility receptor

UniProt

Host

Rabbit

Reactivity

Human

Cross Reactivity

No cross-reactivity with other proteins.

Immunogen

E.coli-derived human CD168/HMMR recombinant protein (Position: K5-D686).

Clonality

Polyclonal

Tissue Specificity

May be up-regulated in bone metastatic breast cancer cells.

Applications

ELISA,Flow Cytometry,IF,ICC,WB

Purification

Immunogen affinity purified.

Concentration

Adding 0.2 ml of distilled water will yield a concentration of 500 μg/ml.

Form

Lyophilized

Reconstitution

Add 0.2ml of distilled water will yield a concentration of 500ug/ml.

Function

Receptor for hyaluronic acid (HA). Involved in cell motility. When hyaluronan binds to HMMR, the phosphorylation of a number of proteins, including PTK2/FAK1 occurs. May also be involved in cellular transformation and metastasis formation, and in regulating extracellular-regulated kinase (ERK) activity. May act as a regulator of adipogenisis.

Storage Conditions

Store at -20℃ for one year from date of receipt. After reconstitution, at 4℃ for one month. It can also be aliquotted and stored frozen at -20℃ for six months. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Fragment

Rabbit IgG

Applications Notes

Western blot, 0.25-0.5μg/ml, Human<br> Flow Cytometry (Fixed), 1-3μg/1x106 cells, Human<br> ELISA, 0.1-0.5μg/ml, -<br>Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence, 2μg/ml, Human<br>
