Product Specifications

Background

Prostaglandin E2 receptor (53kDa), also known as EP2, is aprostaglandin receptor for prostaglandin E2. It is encoded by the human gene PTGER2. It may be associated with aspirin-induced asthma. PTGER2 is mapped to chromosome 14q22. This gene encodes a receptor for prostaglandin E2, a metabolite of arachidonic acid which has different biologic activities in a wide range of tissues. Mutations in this gene are associated with aspirin-induced susceptibility to asthma.

Synonyms

Prostaglandin E2 receptor EP2 subtype;PGE receptor EP2 subtype;PGE2 receptor EP2 subtype;Prostanoid EP2 receptor;PTGER2;

Gene Name

Prostaglandin E2 receptor EP2 subtype

UniProt

P43116

Host

Rabbit

Reactivity

Human

Cross Reactivity

No cross-reactivity with other proteins.

Immunogen

A synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence at the C-terminus of human PTGER2, different from the related mouse sequence by four amino acids, and from the related rat sequence by three amino acids.

Clonality

Polyclonal

Tissue Specificity

Placenta and lung.

Applications

WB

Purification

Immunogen affinity purified.

Concentration

Adding 0.2 ml of distilled water will yield a concentration of 500 μg/ml.

Form

Lyophilized

Reconstitution

Add 0.2ml of distilled water will yield a concentration of 500ug/ml.

Function

Receptor for prostaglandin E2 (PGE2). The activity of this receptor is mediated by G (s) proteins that stimulate adenylate cyclase. The subsequent raise in intracellular cAMP is responsible for the relaxing effect of this receptor on smooth muscle.

Storage Conditions

Store at -20℃ for one year from date of receipt. After reconstitution, at 4℃ for one month. It can also be aliquotted and stored frozen at -20℃ for six months. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Fragment

Rabbit IgG

Applications Notes

Western blot, 0.1-0.5μg/ml, Human <br>

Subcellular Location

Cell membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein.

Sequence Similarities

Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family.

Protein Name

Prostaglandin E2 receptor EP2 subtype
