M199 Medium

M199 Medium, or Medium 199, is a basal medium widely used for the growth of broad species and transformed cells. Cell culture applications of this medium included virology, vaccine production etc. Supplementation may be required dependent on application; most commonly supplemented with 10% fetal bovine serum (FBS) for cell culture use, and requires a 5-10% CO<sub>2</sub> environment to maintain physiological pH. <br><b>M199 is modified as follows:</b><br> With • L-Glutamine • Sodium Bicarbonate (2.2 g/L)  • Phenol Red Without  • HEPES <br><i>Special media modification is available as a Custom Media Service, please contact a technical representative at technical@abmgood.com for more details.
