Anti-Hu CD170 Purified SIGLEC5 Monoclonal Antibody

Boster Bio Anti-Hu CD170 Purified SIGLEC5 Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog# M06510) . Tested in Flow Cytometry, IP, IHC-F, ICC, ELISA application (s) . This antibody reacts with Primate, Human.

Product Specifications

Background

CD170, also known as Siglec 5 (sialic acid binding Ig-like lectin 5) is a type 1 transmembrane glycoprotein containing two cytoplasmic immunoreceptor tyrosine inhibitory motifs (ITIMs) . CD170 forms homodimers and functions as an inhibitory receptor able to downregulate cell activation. It binds to alpha2,3- and alpha2,6-linked sialic acid ligands, e.g. on glycophorin A (CD235a) . Aberrant expression of CD170 by CD34+ progenitor cells can be observed in case of acute myeloid leukemias.

Synonyms

OBBP2, OB-BP2, SIGLEC-5, SIGLEC5

Gene Name

SIGLEC5

UniProt

O15389

Host

Mouse

Reactivity

Primate, Human

Cross Reactivity

As in case with other anti-CD170 antibodies, this antibody cross-reacts with Siglec-14, whose first two Ig domains are almost identical to those of CD170.

Immunogen

Fusion protein composed of human CD170 extracellular domain and Fc region of human IgG1. The mouse monoclonal antibody 1A5 recognizes an extracellular epitope of CD170 (Siglec-5, sialic acid binding Ig-like lectin 5), a transmembrane glycoprotein expressed strongly by neutrophils, macrophages activated during infections, monocytes, and dendritic cells.

Clonality

Monoclonal

Clone

Clone: 1A5

Tissue Specificity

Expressed by monocytic/myeloid lineage cells. Found at high levels in peripheral blood leukocytes, spleen, bone marrow and at lower levels in lymph node, lung, appendix, placenta, pancreas and thymus. Expressed by monocytes and neutrophils but absent from leukemic cell lines representing early stages of myelomonocytic differentiation.

Applications

Flow Cytometry, IP, IHC-F, ICC, ELISA

Purification

Purified by protein-A affinity chromatography.

Concentration

1 mg/ml

Form

Liquid

Function

Putative adhesion molecule that mediates sialic-acid dependent binding to cells. Binds equally to alpha-2,3-linked and alpha-2,6-linked sialic acid. The sialic acid recognition site may be masked by cis interactions with sialic acids on the same cell surface.
