Pasireotide (SOM 230) is a synthetic cyclohexapeptide analog of somatostatin with a distinctive high-affinity binding profile for human somatostatin receptor subtypes, particularly sst5 (pKi=9.9) . It is widely used in both in vitro binding studies and in vivo research models to investigate neuroendocrine regulation and related therapeutic pathways.
