Competence-Stimulating Peptide-2 (CSP-2)

Competence-Stimulating Peptide-2 (CSP-2) is a quorum-sensing pheromone from Streptococcus pneumoniae that activates its cognate receptor ComD2 with an EC50 of 50.7 nM. This peptide is a key tool for studying pneumococcal competence, biofilm formation, and virulence mechanisms in both in vitro and in vivo experimental models.
