Nocistatin
Nocistatin is an endogenous neuropeptide that acts as a functional antagonist of nociceptin/orphanin FQ (N/OFQ) by binding to the orphan opioid receptor-like receptor. It inhibits 5-HT release via G i/o proteins and is used in research to study pain mechanisms, including allodynia and hyperalgesia, in both in vitro and in vivo models.
