Cytomegalovirus Antigen

Culture system: HEL-299 cell culture. Preparation: Infected cells are harvested, washed and virus extracted by alkaline treatment and sonication. The resulting antigen preparation consists of a high concentration of virus and viral components as wellas some cellular material suspended in 0.1 M glycine buffer, pH 9.5. Inactivation: This product has been treated with Beta-propiolactone. Confirmed inactive by attempted growth under original culture conditions. Since no procedure can guarantee absolute sterility, the reagent should be handled with appropriate safety precautions.
