Culture system: BGM cell culture. Preparation: Chlamydial outer membrane complexes (COMCs), prepared by detergent extraction of purified Chlamydia pneumoniae elementary and reticular bodies. Presented in 0.1 M glycine buffer pH 9.5, containing 10 mM DTT. Inactivation: Detergent treatment. Inactivity is confirmed by attempted growth under original culture conditions. Since no procedure can guarantee absolute sterility, the reagent should be handled with appropriate safety precautions.
