Tumour-associated MUC1 epitope

MUC1 is a heavily glycosylated transmembrane protein containing a tumor-associated peptide epitope within its variable tandem repeat domain. This epitope is overexpressed in adenocarcinomas and hematological cancers, making it a prime target for immunotherapy research. Related small molecules are used in vitro and in vivo to study MUC1 function and therapeutic inhibition.
