Melittin

Melittin, a 26-residue peptide from bee venom, is a potent and selective activator of low molecular weight phospholipase A2 (PLA2) . It is widely used in research to study PLA2-dependent signaling, membrane permeabilization, and cytotoxicity in both in vitro and in vivo models of inflammation and toxicity.
