[Arg8]-Vasotocin is a non-mammalian vertebrate neurohypophyseal hormone structurally and functionally related to mammalian vasopressin and oxytocin. It is widely used in comparative endocrinology research to study osmoregulation, social behaviors, and reproductive physiology in avian, amphibian, and fish models, both in vivo and in vitro.
