Unit Definition: 1U Benzonase Nuclease is defined as the amount of enzyme that causes a ΔA260 of 1 in 30 min, which corresponds to complete digestion of 37μg DNA. Standard reaction conditions are 1mg/ml sonicated DNA substrate in 50mM Tris-HCl pH 8.0, 0.1mg/ml BSA, 1mM MgCl2, incubated at 37°C
Preservative
The Benzonase Nuclease solution contains 50% glycerol, 50 mM Tris-HCl pH 8.0, 20 mM NaCl and 2 mM MgCl2.
