Product Specifications
Product Name Alternative
Beta-defensin 4, BD-4, BD-2, Defensin, beta 4, RBD-2, RBD-4, Defb4, Defb2, Defb3.
Source
Escherichia Coli
Purity
Greater than 97.0% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Bioactivity
Measured by its antimicrobial activity against E. coli. The ED50 for this effect is typically 5-50μg/ml.
Form
Sterile Filtered White lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder.
Solubility
It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized BD-4 in sterile 18M-cm H2O not less than 100μg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
Storage Conditions
Stability: Lyophilized BD-4 although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution BD-4 should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18°C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA) . Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles
