Grb2, Human (His)

Grb2, an adapter protein, crucially connects cell surface growth factor receptors to the Ras signaling pathway. Despite no direct binding to phosphorylated EGFR, Grb2 inhibits EGF-induced transactivation of a RAS-responsive element. It acts as a dominant negative relative to GRB2, suppressing proliferative signals and potentially initiating programmed cell death.
