Compstatin
Compstatin is a 13-residue cyclic peptide that potently and specifically inhibits primate complement C3. It is proteolytically stable in baboon blood and inhibits the classical and alternative pathways with IC50 values of 63 μM and 12 μM, respectively. This inhibitor is used in research on inflammatory diseases, ischemia-reperfusion injury, and biocompatibility in both in vitro and primate in vivo models.
