He galanin antagonist M35, which binds with high specificity and affinity to galanin binding sites, has been administered to rats to test the functional consequences of the galanin receptor blockade in a spatial learning task. The results suggest that galanin antagonists might provide a new principle in the treatment of dementia and related disorders.
