Acetyl-CoA synthetase (ACS) is a key enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of acetate to acetyl-CoA (Ac-CoA) . Acetyl-CoA synthetase catalyzes the formation of thioester bonds between coenzyme A and carboxylic acids, while simultaneously hydrolyzing ATP into AMP and pyrophosphate[1].
