The TSSK1 protein is a testis-specific serine/threonine protein kinase that plays a crucial role during late spermatogenesis, especially during cytoplasmic remodeling. It phosphorylates "Ser-288" of TSKS, which contributes to the transition of the ring structure around the base of the flagellum.
