GSSG is reduced to GSH using Glutathione Reductase (GR) . GSH reacts with 5,5'-dithiobis-bis- (2-nitrobenoicacid) to form 2-nitrobenoicacid which has a characteristic absorption peak at 412 nm, the content of total glutathione is determined then. It can test samples of tissues, bacteria, fungus, cells, serums, ect.
