The compound binds to PlGF, blocking its interaction with the receptor VEGFR-1 (Flt-1) and thereby inhibiting downstream signaling. In experimental studies, RO5323441 is utilized to inhibit angiogenic pathways, block PlGF-induced receptor phosphorylation, and suppress tumor growth.
