PRMT5 (Human) ELISA Kit

Protein arginine methyltransferase 5 (PRMT5) is a protein that belongs to the class II arginine methyltransferases. It mediates mono and symmetric di-methylation on arginine residues of several histones (H2A, H4, H3) and non-histone proteins (p53, BCL6, Sm). PRMT5 is predominantly localized in the cytoplasm of a variety of somatic cells. It plays a role in various physiological processes such as adipogenesis, spermatogenesis, and hematopoiesis. Additionally, PRMT5 regulates transcription, RNA splicing, cytokine signaling, and DNA repair. PRMT5 is overexpressed in multiple cancers such as colorectal, lung, gastric cancer, leukemia, lymphoma, glioblastoma, and neuroblastoma. Hence PRMT5 is considered a promising target for cancer therapies. BioVision’s PRMT5 (Human) ELISA kit is used to quantitatively detect MBP in human serum, plasma, and other biological fluids. The kit is based on the Sandwich ELISA principle. Test samples, Standards, and Biotinylated Detection antibody are added to the wells pre-coated with capture antibody and then washed with Wash Buffer. The HRP-Streptavidin is added and any unattached conjugates are washed off by Wash Buffer. The HRP enzymatic reaction is detected by the addition of TMB-substrate. Finally, the reaction is terminated with an acidic stop solution. The color developed is directly proportional to the concentration of PRMT5 in the sample or standard.
