N-Acetylneuraminate lyase (CgNal) (Sialic acid aldolase (CgNal) ) is a class I aldolase, is often used in biochemical studies. N-Acetylneuraminate lyase (CgNal) catalyzes the reversible condensation of pyruvate with N-acetyl-d-mannosamine (ManNAc) to yield the sialic acid N-acetylneuraminic acid (Neu5Ac) [1].
