Assay Protocol

For diluting antibodies use 1:1000 in buffers (1 ml into 999 ml). Washing buffer use 1:500 (1 ml into 499 ml distilled or deionized water). The optimum dilution should be determined by the individual lab. (NOT RECOMMENDED FOR DILUTION OF S100 ANTIBODIES)

Target Description

Non ionic detergents like Triton X100 are used in immunoassays for diluting antibodies to lower background, and non-specific antigen-antibody (ag-ab) reaction. This detergent is also used in washing buffer from 0.1- 0.5% in all immunoassays (ELISA, Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Blot assays and others) to reduce background.TritonX100(polyethyleneglycolp(1,1,3,3tetramethylbutyl)phenylether,octylphenolethoxylate, polyoxyethylene octyl phenyl ether,4-octylphenol polyethoxylate,Mono 30, TX-100, t-octylphenoxypolyethoxyethanol,Octoxynol-9it lower surface tension of water. Triton X100 is also used for recovery of membrane components under mild non-denaturing conditions.
