TNFSF13B (BAFF)
BAFF (B cell activating factor), also known as BlyS (B lymphocyte stimulator) and TALL-1 (TNF- and APOL-related leukocyte expressed ligand 1) is a member of the TNF superfamily designated TNFSF13B. BAFF is expressed by monocytes and dendritic cells in the form of a membrane-anchored homotrimer which may be shed from the cell surface by Furin. BAFF binds BAFF R/TNFRSF13C, BCMA/TNFRSF17 and TACI/TNFRSF13B receptors to regulate B cell homeostasis.
