LIX
Mouse LIX (LPS-induced CXC chemokine) protein sequence is identical to a previously identified mouse neutrophil chemotactic protein (designated mouse GCP-2) that is produced by stimulated mouse epithelial cells and fibroblasts. Among human CXC chemokines, mouse LIX is most closely related to the two highly homologous human neutrophil chemoattractants GCP-2/CXCL6 and ENA-78/CXCL5. Mouse LIX differs from these two human proteins by having an extended C-terminus. The first 78 amino acid residues within the predicted mature mouse LIX share approximately 61% and 55% amino acid sequence identity with human GCP-2 and ENA-78, respectively.
