BD-2 (SAP1)
Human ß-defensin-2 (BD-2) is an antimicrobial peptide which belongs to the distinct family of ß-defensins. Recent studies have shown that the ß-defensins are present in the human airways and may be relevant to the pathogenesis of cystic fibrosis lung disease. Human BD-2 is a 4.3 kDa protein containing 43 amino acid residues.
