Specificity

This antibody recognizes human cyclin E1, a protein (approx. 50 kD) expressed in elevated levels in human tumor cells. Cyclin E1 controls the initiation of DNA synthesis by activating cdk2, and i expression of cyclin E1 is upregulated by the E7 oncoprotein.
