CTXIII ELISA Kit (Human)
Product Specifications
Gene Aliases
C-terminal telopeptide of Collagen alpha-1 (III) chain
Reactivity
Human
Target
In bone physiology, the C-terminal telopeptide (or more formally, carboxy-terminal collagen crosslinks, and known by the acronym CTX) is a serum biomarker used to measure the rate of bone turnover. It can be useful in assisting clinicians to determine a patient's nonsurgical treatment response as well as evaluate a patient's risk of developing complications during healing following surgical intervention. The test used to detect the CTX marker is called the Serum CrossLaps, and it is more specific to bone resorption than any other test currently available.

Enzyme-linked Immunosorbent assay-Competitive
Assay Principle
Aviva Systems Biology CTXIII ELISA Kit (Human) (OKEH01203) is based on a competitive enzyme immuno assay technique. The microtiter well-plate in this kit has been pre-coated with an anti-human CTXIII antibody. Sample or standards are added to the wells along with a fixed quantity of biotinylated CTXIII and incubated. The CTXIII found in the sample or standards competes with the biotinylated CTXIII for limited binding sites on the immobilized anti-human CTXIII antibody. Excess unbound biotinylated CTXIII and sample or standard CTXIII is washed from the plate. Avidin-HRP conjugate is added, incubated and washed. An enzymatic reaction is then produced through the addition of TMB substrate which is catalyzed by the immobilized HRP to generate a blue color product that changes yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of yellow coloration is measured by reading the absorbance at 450 nm which is quantitatively proportional to the amount of biotinylated CTXIII captured in the well and inversely proportional to the amount of CTXIII which was contained in the sample or standard.
