Target
Hormone that acts as a regulator of dendritic growth in the developing cerebral cortex in response to sensory experience (PubMed:27830782) . Induced in the brain following membrane depolarization and inhibits dendritic branching in neurons of the developing cortex (PubMed:27830782) . Probably acts by binding to natriuretic peptide receptor NPR3/NPR-C, thereby preventing binding between NPR3/NPR-C and natriuretic peptides, leading to increase cGMP production (By similarity) .

ELISA Kit
Applications
Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay
Assay Principle
Aviva Systems Biology OSTN ELISA Kit (Human) (OKDD00447) is based on standard sandwich enzyme-linked immuno-sorbent assay methodology. An antibody for OSTN has been pre-coated onto a 96-wellplate (12 x 8 Well Strips) . Standards or test samples are added to the wells, incubated and removed. A biotinylated detector antibody specific for OSTN is added, incubated and removed. Avidin-Peroxidase Conjugate is then added, incubated and unbound conjugate is washed away. An enzymatic reaction is produced through the addition of TMB substrate which is catalyzed by HRP generating a blue color product that changes yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of yellow coloration read by absorbance at 450 nm and is quantitatively proportional to the amount of sample OSTN captured in well.
