Target
Associates with IFNAR1 to form the type I interferon receptor. Receptor for interferons alpha and beta. Involved in IFN-mediated STAT1, STAT2 and STAT3 activation (PubMed:26424569) . Isoform 1 and isoform 2 are directly involved in signal transduction due to their association with the TYR kinase, JAK1 (PubMed:8181059, PubMed:7665574, PubMed:7759950) . Isoform 3 is a potent inhibitor of type I IFN receptor activity (PubMed:7759950) .

Assay Principle
The test principle applied in this kit is Sandwich enzyme immunoassay. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Interferon Alpha/Beta Receptor 2 (IFNa/bR2) . Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to Interferon Alpha/Beta Receptor 2 (IFNa/bR2) . Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. After TMB substrate solution is added, only those wells that contain Interferon Alpha/Beta Receptor 2 (IFNa/bR2), biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450nm +/- 10nm. The concentration of Interferon Alpha/Beta Receptor 2 (IFNa/bR2) in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.
