Key component of innate and adaptive immunity. TLRs (Toll-like receptors) control host immune response against pathogens through recognition of molecular patterns specific to microorganisms. TLR3 is a nucleotide-sensing TLR which is activated by double-stranded RNA, a sign of viral infection. Acts via the adapter TRIF/TICAM1, leading to NF-kappa-B activation, IRF3 nuclear translocation, cytokine secretion and the inflammatory response (By similarity) .

The microplate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Toll Like Receptor 3 (TLR3) . Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microplate wells with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to Toll Like Receptor 3 (TLR3) . Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. Then the mixture of substrate A and B is added to generate glow light emission kinetics. Upon plate development, the intensity of the emitted light is proportional to the Toll Like Receptor 3 (TLR3) level in the sample or standard.
