Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays) : 3 samples with low, middle and high level Oncostatin M (OSM) were tested on 3 different plates, 8 replicates in each plate. Growth regulator. Inhibits the proliferation of a number of tumor cell lines. Stimulates proliferation of AIDS-KS cells. It regulates cytokine production, including IL-6, G-CSF and GM-CSF from endothelial cells. Uses both type I OSM receptor (heterodimers composed of LIPR and IL6ST) and type II OSM receptor (heterodimers composed of OSMR and IL6ST) . Involved in the maturation of fetal hepatocytes, thereby promoting liver development and regeneration (By similarity) .

The microplate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Oncostatin M (OSM) . Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microplate wells with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to Oncostatin M (OSM) . Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. Then the mixture of substrate A and B is added to generate glow light emission kinetics. Upon plate development, the intensity of the emitted light is proportional to the Oncostatin M (OSM) level in the sample or standard.
