Isoform 1: Cleaves GlcNAc but not GalNAc from O-glycosylated proteins. Can use p-nitrophenyl-beta-GlcNAc and 4-methylumbelliferone-GlcNAc as substrates but not p-nitrophenyl-beta-GalNAc or p-nitrophenyl-alpha-GlcNAc (in vitro) (PubMed:11148210) . Does not bind acetyl-CoA and does not have histone acetyltransferase activity (PubMed:24088714) .

The microplate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Meningioma Expressed Antigen 5 (MGEA5) . Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microplate wells with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to Meningioma Expressed Antigen 5 (MGEA5) . Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. Then the mixture of substrate A and B is added to generate glow light emission kinetics. Upon plate development, the intensity of the emitted light is proportional to the Meningioma Expressed Antigen 5 (MGEA5) level in the sample or standard.
