Target

May play a role in the trafficking of activated/effector T-lymphocytes to inflammatory sites and other aspects of activated T-lymphocyte physiology. Chemotactic for monocytes, dendritic cells and natural killer cells. Mild chemoattractant for primary activated T-lymphocytes and a potent chemoattractant for chronically activated T-lymphocytes but has no chemoattractant activity for neutrophils, eosinophils, and resting T-lymphocytes. Binds to CCR4. Processed forms MDC (3-69), MDC (5-69) and MDC (7-69) seem not be active.

Assay Principle

The microplate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Macrophage Derived Chemokine (MDC) . Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microplate wells with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to Macrophage Derived Chemokine (MDC) . Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. Then the mixture of substrate A and B is added to generate glow light emission kinetics. Upon plate development, the intensity of the emitted light is proportional to the Macrophage Derived Chemokine (MDC) level in the sample or standard.
