DAO Chemi-Luminescent ELISA Kit (Human)

Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay) : 3 samples with low, middle and high level D-Amino Acid Oxidase (DAO) were tested 20 times on one plate, respectively. Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays) : 3 samples with low, middle and high level D-Amino Acid Oxidase (DAO) were tested on 3 different plates, 8 replicates in each plate. Regulates the level of the neuromodulator D-serine in the brain. Has high activity towards D-DOPA and contributes to dopamine synthesis. Could act as a detoxifying agent which removes D-amino acids accumulated during aging. Acts on a variety of D-amino acids with a preference for those having small hydrophobic side chains followed by those bearing polar, aromatic, and basic groups. Does not act on acidic amino acids.

The microplate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to D-Amino Acid Oxidase (DAO) . Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microplate wells with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to D-Amino Acid Oxidase (DAO) . Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. Then the mixture of substrate A and B is added to generate glow light emission kinetics. Upon plate development, the intensity of the emitted light is proportional to the D-Amino Acid Oxidase (DAO) level in the sample or standard.
