Binds to F-actin and exhibits pH-sensitive F-actin depolymerizing activity (PubMed:11809832) . Regulates actin cytoskeleton dynamics. Important for normal progress through mitosis and normal cytokinesis. Plays a role in the regulation of cell morphology and cytoskeletal organization. Required for the up-regulation of atypical chemokine receptor ACKR2 from endosomal compartment to cell membrane, increasing its efficiency in chemokine uptake and degradation (By similarity) . Required for neural tube morphogenesis and neural crest cell migration (PubMed:15649475) .

The microplate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Cofilin 1 (CFL1) . Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microplate wells with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to Cofilin 1 (CFL1) . Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. Then the mixture of substrate A and B is added to generate glow light emission kinetics. Upon plate development, the intensity of the emitted light is proportional to the Cofilin 1 (CFL1) level in the sample or standard.
