Target
RNA-binding factor that may recruit target transcripts to cytoplasmic protein-RNA complexes (mRNPs) . This transcript 'caging' into mRNPs allows mRNA transport and transient storage. It also modulates the rate and location at which target transcripts encounter the translational apparatus and shields them from endonuclease attacks or microRNA-mediated degradation. Binds to the 3'-UTR of CD44 mRNA and stabilizes it, hence promotes cell adhesion and invadopodia formation in cancer cells. Binds to beta-actin/ACTB and MYC transcripts. Binds to the 5'-UTR of the insulin-like growth factor 2 (IGF2) mRNAs.

Assay Principle
The test principle applied in this kit is Sandwich enzyme immunoassay. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Insulin Like Growth Factor 2 mRNA Binding Protein 3 (IGF2BP3) . Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to Insulin Like Growth Factor 2 mRNA Binding Protein 3 (IGF2BP3) . Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. After TMB substrate solution is added, only those wells that contain Insulin Like Growth Factor 2 mRNA Binding Protein 3 (IGF2BP3), biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450nm +/- 10nm. The concentration of Insulin Like Growth Factor 2 mRNA Binding Protein 3 (IGF2BP3) in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.
